Melvin Slack Jr. Shreveport mayor candidate. |
The Mayoral race in Shreveport is getting hot and hotter every other single day. Republican candidate Melvin Slack shocked everyone when he decided to step down from the race.
This shocking news came a day after Slack spoke disparagingly about gay at a mayoral forum convened by PACE an advocacy organization for LGBTQ. When he was reached over the phone he tried as much as possible to make it snappy "If this was a ploy to get me out of the race, they got what they wanted because I'm just going to go ahead and let them have the mayor's race," he said.
As if that wasn't enough, on August 22nd, a judge granted a temporary restraining order against Slack. The victim claims that he threatened her at the forum. She accuse him on August 21st, and Slack sexually harassed her and kept on sending and texting her death threats multiple times which acted as evidence to authorities to grant a temporary restraining order. When reached him, he denied all the charges and labeled them as "false"
Slack who turned up doing a 2020 Trump campaign shirt things did go all well with him although he had promised people he handle all the ugly gangster elements in the city since.
Melvin Slack Jr. made a well-thought decision to bow out of the race leaving 8 to rival for the mayorship of Shreveport City.
