Gay Pride Represented At Ugandan Nyege Nyege Festival.

In the recently concluded Nyege Nyege Festival on 18th-Sept-2022 always held in Uganda Gay pride was well represented by its famous members. Nyege Nyege is a cultural festival that attracts different people from different parts of the world. Those coming from Europe, Asia, Africa, and other continents keep flowing to Uganda to enjoy its beautiful scenery and wildlife. As Uganda continues to be a deadly place for LGBTQ members, this proved to be the only option and chance for the pride members to enjoy their freedom without being condemned or pointed fingers at.

Earlier at the beginning of the week, legislators tried their level best to stop this event to take place but thanks to the Ugandan Premier who gave the green light for the event to happen but with guidelines from the MInster of Ethics and Integrity. This move from legislators popularized the events as people flooded the event with a lot of curiosity to know what really happens during Nyege Nyege to an extent of legislators made a move to block it. Many famous and prominent people like ex-premier Rebecca Kadaga joined and enjoy life with youths.

Many people were seen donning gay pride materials like T-Shirts, Bangos, Shorts, and many others while most of them showed off without fear of being jailed. We appreciate the Ugandan Premier for letting this event happen so that people from our pride can enjoy a light moment while it lasted. As Our Gay Pride website, we still advocate for gay rights and ask the Ugandan government to draft laws that protect Ugandan gay freedom. We still condom all the people that mistreat gay people and urge them to embrace change
