Igor Benevenuto who raised so many people's eyebrows late in July when he came out publically as Gay. This made Igor the first FIFA-ranked referee to come out as gay. Before he decided to come out of his darkest closet, he was living life like in hell. In a podcast interview by Nos Armarios dos Vestiarios, Igor said "I am 41, and 23 of those years have been dedicated to the whistle. Until today I've never been the real me. Gays are used to not being themselves."

Igor believes now he is living the best of his life ever "I've been at the center of the pitch for over two decades but never for my life. It was until July when I got enough courage and decided to love the kind of life I love and prefer to live."

When asked about other players he knows around who are gay, Igor blatantly said " Many, there are so many more in the premier league. They exist but fear coming out to the public. From officials, managers, players, and referees at least 60% or LGBTQ." he said.

Many people all over the world struggle to come out but I need the public to know that we exist and deserve to live freely just like others do.

Back home being gay is a disease or illness comparable to or similar to alcoholism. We all know Alcohol can be overcome but not what you are. i have lived all my life as gay but never gotten an urge of overcoming it.

The premier league is the most watched league in the world which means all world's attention is centered there but you would be surprised at just how many homosexuals are in the league.

If homosexual fans come out freely why do they intimidate players? Many fear losing their sponsorship and contracts, it's sickening.

There is no player in Brazil who can dare to come out as homosexual but we always pray to God that one day we will be free and come out and get no hate back.
